How does Crane Inspection work?

  2. Operational Testing: The crane’s functionality is tested under normal operating conditions, including checks on controls, brakes, hoists, and safety systems.

  3. NDT Techniques: NDT methods are employed to detect flaws and ensure structural integrity, including, but not limited to:

    • Visual Inspection: For identifying surface cracks, corrosion, or wear.

    • Magnetic Particle Inspection: For detecting surface defects on crane boom welds or localised areas of repairs

    • Ultrasonic Testing: For assessing components, such as shafts and load-bearing structures, for cracks or weaknesses.

    • Eddy Current Testing: For detecting surface and near-surface defects in conductive materials without removing coatings.

    • Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing: For advanced imaging and precise detection of flaws in critical components.

  4. Structural Evaluation: Detailed assessment of critical components, including the boom, jib, hooks, chains, and rigging, to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.

  5. Reporting and Recommendations: A comprehensive report is provided, summarizing findings and offering recommendations for maintenance or repairs if necessary.
