Carestream’s Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) group has launched the INDUSTREX Fieldview Tablet, a rugged industrial device designed to improve efficiency in digital radiographic (DR) imaging for field inspections. Traditionally, radiographers needed to revisit locations for retakes or rely on distant review stations, slowing productivity. The new tablet enables inspectors to validate image positioning, markers, and image quality indicators (IQI) directly at the inspection site, reducing errors and eliminating unnecessary retakes.
Equipped with an industrial touchscreen interface that can be operated with gloved hands or a stylus, the tablet is lightweight and durable, replacing bulkier laptops often unsuitable for rough or remote environments. Radiographers can instantly review, adjust, retake, or wirelessly transfer images to nearby stations, accelerating workflow and improving throughput. According to David Chan, Global General Manager for Carestream NDT, this advancement overcomes the challenge of delayed image validation and enhances both efficiency and productivity.
The INDUSTREX Fieldview Tablet is also designed for seamless compatibility with Carestream’s NDT imaging portfolio, including CR and DR systems like the HPX-DR 3543 PE and HPX-ARC 1025 PH. Integrated with INDUSTREX Digital Viewing Software, it provides inspectors with a unified platform for reviewing, analysing, and standardizing inspection data, making field imaging more streamlined and reliable.
